Mary Panam

Mary (Marina) Panam has helped well over 500 students excel in Mathematics and Physics. She has also worked with students that have a wide range of abilities: from those who “think they are bad at math” to National Merit Scholars and Decathlon Winners. Mrs. Panam earned her Bachelor’s degree in Applied Physics (specialization in Optics) from the New Jersey Institute of Technology and her Master’s in Physics (specialization in Microelectronics) through a joint program between Rutgers University and the New Jersey Institute of Technology. To fulfill her love of teaching, she started Sigma Learning Center in 2012. Mary has since offered solid math instruction for hundreds of children ranging from 6th to 12th grade. She most enjoys teaching Mathematics and Physics as well as SAT coaching. In her free time, she also enjoys traveling, music, knitting, and listening to audio books.

Emily Cheeramkuzhy

Emily Cheeramkuzhy is studying Management Information Systems at the University of Houston. She had been a student at Sigma since 2015 and then started teaching in 2021. Emily is a graduate from Ridge Point High School and some of her academic and leadership achievements include being a member of the Math Honors Society (Mu Alpha Theta), serving on the student council, participating in HOSA, and being an active member of the National Honors Society. She hopes to help students push past their academic boundaries and grow as learners.

Joachim Panam

Joachim Panam is currently a high school sophomore student and is homeschooled. His math acumen includes ranking in the top 2% nationally among college bound high school students on the Math SAT portion, while in middle school. Joachim’s leadership achievements include starting a Math Honor Society chapter for homeschoolers and is also the Treasurer of the Student Council at Bluebonnet Home Scholars. Joachim enjoys helping others explore the world of mathematics, and has taught students from middle school to Precalculus. He also enjoys solving and creating, mind-bending and interesting math problems.

Julia Roncy

Julia Roncy attends the University of Houston and is majoring in Nutrition Sciences. She is a Ridge Point High School and Sigma alumni. Julia’s academic and leadership achievements include being the Secretary of the Science National Honor Society as well as the Parliamentarian  of the Student Council. Julia enjoyed being an active member of HOSA and the National Honors Society. She has always loved teaching and brings her passion into the classroom.

Thomas Mathew

Thomas Mathew is a junior at Elkins High School with a passion for music, sports, and education. He is an Honor Roll student who has been learning at Sigma since 2017. He is also an active member of the Varsity Choir and Chess Club. Thomas hopes to pursue dentistry and be able to manage his own practices. Furthermore, he wants to make learning enjoyable and understandable, not just pen and paper.

Anjana Thomas

Anjana Thomas is a Junior studying Management Information Systems at the University of Houston. She has been teaching students since 2017 and joined Sigma Learning Center in 2019.  She has a passion to help facilitate growth and learning for her students.

Geo Roncy

Geo Roncy is a freshman studying Finance at the University of Houston. He has been teaching at Sigma Learning Center since 2017 and have enjoyed his time educating his Middle School and Algebra 1 students. He hopes to continue helping students grow in their potential.

Elsa Chittet

Elsa Chittet is a high school graduate at the Medical Science Academy in Hightower High School. She will
be attending the University of Texas at Dallas in hopes of becoming a future healthcare professional.
Having a great passion for teaching, she joined Sigma Learning Center in 2019 where she has taught
middle school math and high school science courses. She has a great passion to help students look at
problems in an abstract manner that suites their learning style and encourages them to go beyond the
subject material provided in their curriculum.
