Sangeetha Narayan

Hello! My name is Sangeetha Narayan, and I graduated from Dulles High School in 2017. Currently a senior at UT Dallas, I am majoring in biochemistry, minoring in public health, and on the pre-med track. In high school, I surrounded myself with so many talented and brilliant students that forced me to push myself and reimagine a brighter future for myself. While being enrolled in many pre-AP and AP courses was a challenging experience, it prepared me thoroughly by priming my thought process into one that continues to serve me well in my college classes. Of course, none of my successes in high school would have been possible without my parents, a strong support system at school, and Sigma Learning Center. Sigma LC taught me the importance of practicing and understanding concepts to their core. Nothing seemed impossible after attending lessons at Sigma! I felt honored to give back to Sigma Learning Center as a tutor during my senior year. The experience of being able to help other students in the same room that I had once received much-needed help made it full circle. I am so thankful to Sigma Learning Center for helping me grow into a better student, believing in my potential, and giving me the opportunity to find my passion for teaching! My biggest advice to high school students would be to use your four years to find what you’re passionate about, understand your learning style, and ask questions! Carve your own unique path irrespective of what others are doing. This will make your experience all the more meaningful!

“The teaching is very easy to understand. It is taught step by step and that makes the work easier than it really is” – Anjali Mani, Clements HS

“Really helpful in learning ahead and for those who wish to excel in math.”

“Sigma tutorials has helped me dramatically lift up my grades and get ahead of my class. Thanks a lot for the help! The tutors have provided me with a deep insight in math that I never get it class, allowing me to know mathematics on a deeper level.”

“Algebra II is a great class here where I’ve been learning a lot and staying ahead of the curriculum. The pace is fire, and I learn a lot.”

Blessina Babu

My name is Blessina Babu. I am currently a junior at Texas A&M, majoring in Biomedical Sciences with a Public Health Minor and a Certificate in Biomedical Science Research. I graduated from Ridge Point High School at the top of my class and was honored to receive the National Merit Scholarship on my SAT. To me, however, my greatest achievement in high school was being elected Student Council State Secretary and raising money for education in Kenya. More recently, a friend and I started an organization called “Creating Optimistic Outlook on Learning” where we reach out to children from low-income families, read to them, and be their mentors. My high school experience was a bit of a roller coaster ride – but it helped me learn how to prioritize my time. At heart, I am a very extroverted person so I enjoy being involved and taking initiative. I’ve had the privilege of serving in leadership roles such as student council president, as well as the student council state secretary. My high school was like my second home and prepared me well for college. Things could get challenging at times and if I needed help, I had the support I needed to get me through. I was blessed to be able to lean on my faith, my parish, and my family when things seemed to get tough. Sigma Learning Center helped me reach my academic goals – particularly with my physics and math classes. I thought I was bad at math, but they helped me realize that understanding concepts and practicing is all it takes. I was able to maintain good grades and even help those around me.

“Sigma is a great tool for learning. This is like another school…but better. My teachers help me more than ever. They work hard and teach math, Physics, Science, Writing, and way more.” – Thomas Mathew, Elkins HS

“I think that Sigma Learning Center is one of the most amazing places on earth. I used to dread going here because I had to spend 1 hour learning math, my most awful subject. But now that I’ve been here, its really fun and the teachers are so understanding. They have so much resources, which really helps! I encourage everybody who struggles in a subject to start going here straight away!”

“Sigma Learning Center has helped me a lot to grow in the background of math. Ever since the end of 5th grade I was falling behind in math, until my friend and her mom told me about Sigma Learning Center. I encourage all the students that are struggling in math and other subjects to start going to the amazing sigma learning center!”

“Sigma is a good learning center. It teaches math really good, and they helped me bring my grades up. There lesson are very interactive and help you review.”

“Honestly, if I didn’t have Sigma, I would probably be failing math. Math is already a hard subject for me, but here it is taught in a way that is understandable to me. The packets she gives us aren’t always fun, but they offer practice for upcoming tests.”

“Sigma is very helpful because it helps on my speed with math which results in better grades. Sigma also helps me gain a better understanding of math and how to solve problems. This program has given me better grades and more knowledge.”

“Sigma is great! My grades have been dramatically increasing thanks to the amazing teachers!”

“This is a good place! It is so good, that my F in my math has gone to an A+”

Yash Desai

Hello! My name is Yash Desai and I am currently a junior at UT Austin. I joined the Honors Biochemistry Program with the hopes of becoming an oncologist. At UT, I am also a part of a charitable initiative very close to my heart, called Texas 4000. As a part of this initiative, I and other like-minded individuals will be biking over 4,500 miles from Austin, Texas to Anchorage, Alaska in order to raise money for cancer research. You can support me and Texas 4000 here (http://tinyurl.com/YashTexas4000)

I graduated from Clements High School in 2018. If I had to describe my high school experience, I would say that it was tough, but rewarding! I was intellectually challenged in my classes, but through hard work, I did very well (particularly in math and in the sciences). I also broadened my horizons through participation in extracurricular activities. Some of my favorite activities included orchestra and debate. I enjoyed participating in both of them at a competitive level. During my senior year of high school, I was honored to be a Texas-state level octafinalist in Public Forum Debate. High school also introduced me to Spanish, which is something that I am especially grateful for. I enjoyed learning about the language and culture so much that I picked it up as a minor in college.

My family played a huge role in my life and especially throughout high school. They provided a solid support system for me and helped me by encouraging me to explore different interests, supporting my extracurricular activities, and providing me with help when I needed it.

When I was met with challenging classes (such as Physics, Algebra II, and Calculus), I realized that I wasn’t studying effectively. Sigma Learning Center provided a lot of support. They taught me how to be a better student and how to better dissect/understand complex concepts in math and science by breaking them down into smaller pieces.

Snehal Kumar

Hello! My name is Snehal Kumar, and I am a college freshman majoring in biochemistry at the University of Texas at Austin. As a student of the graduated Hightower High School Class of 2020, I was constantly challenged by my classes, peers, and extracurricular activities. Courses such as AP Physics I, Pre-Calculus, and Calculus BC were especially daunting. Fortunately, I had a sturdy support system that facilitated my growth and education, particularly my family, faith, teachers, and last but not least, Sigma Learning Center. Sigma went beyond the textbook and calculator; instead, I was taught valuable tools and skills in math and science that I will certainly carry throughout the rest of my career (not to mention the practice problems—they were enough to last me a lifetime!). From one student to another, I would encourage high schoolers to take the time to dabble in different activities and find their calling. A solid class rank and GPA are definitely important, but they do not solely guarantee a college acceptance. When I was at Hightower, I was competitively involved in Speech and Debate, HOSA, and science fair. HOSA in particular, along with the Hightower Medical Science Academy, strengthened my knowledge and interest in medicine. Consequently, I developed two long term goals: one, gaining acceptance into a medical school, and two, pursuing a career in medicine. Speaking of goals—make lots of them! Setting checkpoints throughout high school, whether they be major or minor, can be extremely beneficial in bringing you satisfaction and holding you accountable for your actions. They made my four years of highschool an incredibly gratifying experience—one that I’ll be sure to remember for years to come.
